The Current Employment Statistics (CES) program provides estimates of employment, hours, and earnings information on a national basis and in industry detail. The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) collects payroll data each month from a sample of businesses and government establishments in nonfarm activities.
From this data, a large number of series on employment, hours, and earnings in considerable industrial detail are published monthly for each of the 50 States, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands in this dataset.
