    "Performant, reliable. HA made easy"

    What do you like best?

Simple to configure, simple enough to grasp administrative tasks Absolutely complete speaking of observability

    What do you dislike?

Still some rough edges with errors. Errors sometimes consist of cryptics dumped c++ objects without enough infos to track (sometime understand) source code An example of a rough edge: if one node fails to synchronize, it could log a "file not found" error in mysql logs while the proper "backup log" from the chosen SST tool will correctly display the real error. Having this issue at 3 AM, you always start to check if binaries still exist, which they do, and then you remember this corner case and check the correct log file if you happen to know it exists This is a user experience issue only, everything is there to debug if you know where to search

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

It's my go-to solutions for HA setups in mysql Rather painless with a great ROI compared to other solutions

"Percona XTRADB cluster should be the gold standard"

    What do you like best?

Percona has an ability to be powerful in configuration options. This database and the company behind it outperforms the industry but is somewhat the unsung hero while doing it. I recommend entirely this database for a small startup that has incredibly intense data workloads. This database if setup correctly is a 5 9's environment.

    What do you dislike?

The complexity is the major drawback to this service. I recommend being very careful about what flags you introduce. It's worth it to learn the database, but when it starts having technical difficulty due to usually the software that works with it, it can be a challenge to understand exactly what is wrong with it. A strong DBA on your team is a requirement.

What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?

Huge optimizations in throughput and multi user environments accessing the same data. We witnessed massive cost savings when we changed from MySQL GA back in 2015. We further scaled with it to a MVP buyout candidate that got purchased by fortune 500. This database when configured correctly while be able to handle extremely intense workloads. The traffic scaled to multiple millions of hits per hour and this database was handling it on a R4.xlarge x3 at the time.
