Births Data Summary
This dataset has counts of live births occurring within the United States to U.S. residents based on CDC-collected statistics. The counts include a variety of maternal demographic characteristics, such as state and county of residence, urbanization, mother's race, and mother's age, and health and medical items, such as tobacco use, delivery method, and congenital anomalies.
Beyond maternal characteristics, this dataset also illustrates both paternal and infant information that may be relevant to understanding certain social determinants of health. Paternal characteristics include age, race and ethnicity (including country of origin), education. Infant characteristics: gender, birth weight, delivery, congenital abnormalities.
