Set up product pricing

About product pricing setup

Part of product onboarding includes setting up pricing information. To set up pricing for each product, on Partner portal, complete the following steps:

  1. Add general product pricing information
  2. Add product editions
  3. Submit product pricing for review

Prerequisite

  • Sign in to your account
  • Get Modify products role

Procedure

  1. On the main menu, click Products.
  2. On the Onboard your product section, click the product tile associated to the product you need to set up. The Product setup page shows.
  3. To navigate to Product pricing setup, on the Set up product pricing row, click Edit.

Result

The Define Red Hat Marketplace editions page shows.

About this task

Red Hat Marketplace applies the following information to all editions associated to the product:

Procedure

  1. Navigate to product pricing setup.
  2. On the Export control classification number (ECCN) section, from the ECCN Code list, select an option.
  3. On the United Nations standard product and service code (UNSPSC) section, from the UNSPSC list, select an option.
  4. Click Save.

Result

You added general information to your product.


About Export control classification number

The Export control classification number is a required piece of data to ensure IBM can apply the appropriate export controls on the trial, sale and distribution of a partner product. This ID is required by Red Hat as well as part of the operator certification process.

About United Nations standard product and service code

The United Nations standard product and service code (UNSPSC) is a hierarchical convention that is used to classify all products and services. To sell products to U.S. government entities that are aligned with the Western States Contract Alliance and the National Association of State Procurement Officers, it is required that all products contain a current UNSPSC code.

Add an edition to a product

This task describes how to add an edition to a product.

Prerequisite

  • Sign in to your account
  • Get Modify products role

About this task

Editions allow you to offer multiple delivery methods and commerce models for a product. You can add up to five editions per product.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to product pricing setup.
  2. To add an edition to a product, click Add Edition.
  3. Click Save.

Result

You added an edition to your product.

This task describes how to delete an edition from a product.

Prerequisite

About this task

Deleting an edition removes all pricing information associated to the edition.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to product pricing setup.
  2. To delete an edition from a product, on the edition section, click Delete (trash can icon).
  3. Click Save.

Result

You deleted an edition from your product.

This task describes how to submit a product pricing for review.

Prerequisite

About this task

Before you can publish your product on Red Hat Marketplace, first you submit your product pricing configuration for review. Your Onboarding lead reviews product pricing information and validates all required information.

Procedure

  1. Navigate to product pricing setup.
  2. To submit product pricing for review, click Submit for review.

Result

You submitted your product for review. Your Onboarding lead receives a notification to review your product pricing information.
