Selling in other countries or territories

Overview on selling in other countries or territories

Partners can sell products in 49 countries, including the U.S., through private offers on Red Hat Marketplace. To make products available for sale, configure each product for international selling. When configured, Red Hat Marketplace calculates private offers (total contract value, discounts, ramps, and so on), billing, and tax in local currency.

Marketplace model — U.S. only

In the U.S., IBM acts as the facilitator of transactions between the customer and the partner. In this model, the partner sells directly to the customer with IBM providing services to the partner that facilitate the purchase. The partner determines the price and configuration details, as well as provides the product terms of use or license agreement to the customer. IBM’s services to facilitate the transaction include billing the customer and remitting taxes.

Resell model — outside the U.S.

Outside the U.S., IBM acts as the reseller of the partner product to the customer. In this model, IBM sets the price of the product and purchase terms for the customer transaction. The partner determines the price for IBM’s purchase of the product and configuration details, as well as provides the terms of use or license agreement to the customer. IBM bills the customer and remits taxes.
